Stratburg consortium leads Swiss investment mission to Hai Phong

Swiss business delegation meeting the Hai Phong city leadership, 20 October 2026

On 20 October 2026, Stratburg and its consortium partners organised an investment and site visit to Hai Phong for a Swiss business delegation, one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing industrial and logistics hubs. The trip was organised by our Managing Partner Marco Förster together with Joseph Truong, Senior Advisor at Stratburg and founder of Tien and Co., and Kimmi Võ, Principal and Founder of Mangrove Strategies.

Meeting the city leadership

The delegation, led by Ivo Sieber, Vice President of the Swiss-Viet Economic Forum (SVEF) and former Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam, was received by Hoàng Minh Cường, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee. Representatives of the Embassy of Switzerland, the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce, the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO) and the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA) also took part.

The Vice Chairman set out Hai Phong’s case: eleven consecutive years of double-digit growth, the third-largest economy among Vietnam’s provinces and cities, and more than USD 53 billion in cumulative foreign direct investment from 41 countries and territories. He highlighted the Lach Huyen international gateway port, the city’s large industrial parks and its new free trade zone pilot, and named ports, logistics, manufacturing, energy, finance and the green economy as priority areas for Swiss partners.

On the ground

The delegation toured Trang Due Industrial Park and held working meetings with Kinh Bac City Development (KBC) and HEZA. Discussions covered land availability, infrastructure, incentives and the region’s role in electronics manufacturing and supply chains.

Coming straight after the signing of Vietnam’s free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and in the year Vietnam and Switzerland mark 55 years of diplomatic relations, the visit gave participants a first-hand view of where the agreement’s opportunities will turn into investment on the ground. EFTA’s members are Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
