On 8 October 2026, our Managing Partner Marco Förster spoke to the Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) cohort of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) during its Hanoi module. CEIBS brings its GEMBA participants from Shanghai to Hanoi every other year, and it is always a pleasure to welcome them.
The programme is one of the strongest of its kind. In the 2026 Financial Times ranking, the CEIBS Global EMBA placed second worldwide and first on the Chinese mainland, and it is the only EMBA programme to have ranked in the global top two every year since 2020. Launched in 1995 as the first English-language EMBA on the Chinese mainland, it draws participants from more than 20 countries and regions.
Shifting supply chain dynamics
Hosted by Prof. Bala Ramasamy, Associate Dean and Director of the Global EMBA Programme, the session gave the cohort a briefing on Vietnam’s economy, its place in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its growing role in global supply chains, followed by a lively Q&A with the participants.

Why Vietnam
For executives with operations in China, Vietnam is both a partner and a competitor. It has become one of the main destinations for manufacturing diversification, remains closely linked to Chinese supply chains, and grew 9.01% in the first nine months of 2026. Seeing the market first-hand helps make sense of both sides of that relationship, and of the opportunities it creates for companies on each side of the border.
Thank you to Prof. Bala Ramasamy and the CEIBS Global EMBA team for the invitation, and to the participants for their excellent questions.
